Giza Plateau 1996
In 1995 and 1996 I went to Egypt. I was there because I was in the region of Jerusalem working on an archaeological project with the Univerity of California San Diego, The Hebrew Union College, and Professor Tom Levy. Egypt is an amazing place to visit and I highly recomend it if your interested in antiquity. The pyramids are so much bigger than the look here, much bigger. The perspective does not do it justice. One of my most fond memories was napping on one of the lower steps of Kufu, one of the Great Pyramids. I really went to sleep and when I awoke I was in a state of total discovery, it felt like my body was "reset". I believe the person who shot this image is Justine, then my girlfriend, now wife, although she does not remember shooting it. I could have been Dave Leonard. In the city of Cairo the night is most mysterious and my first impressions where of complete fascination. Visit one day and see for your self.
